The Grand Place and its immediate side streets hold the town's cafe life. These are neighbourhood bars first and foremost — no craft-beer pretensions, no cocktail menus — but Belgian draught is reliably good and the atmosphere on a warm evening, with the Romanesque towers visible from every terrace, is quietly satisfying.
