The Una River is at its most impressive in spring when snowmelt swells the flow and the waterfalls are at full force — May and June are the best months for rafting and for seeing the full drama of Štrbački Buk. Summer (July and August) brings the warmest weather and the best swimming conditions, though the river is popular and the national park can be crowded.
Autumn is quieter, with good weather for hiking and cycling in the national park. Winter is cold, often below freezing, and most rafting operators close from October through April. The town itself operates year-round.
