Brcko eats like the rest of Bosnia — simply, cheaply, and well. The staples are ćevapi (grilled minced meat links served with flatbread, raw onion, and kajmak cream), burek (flaky pastry filled with meat or cheese), sarma (stuffed cabbage), and grilled meats. The café culture is comprehensive: coffee stops are everywhere and nobody seems in a hurry. The Sava-side restaurants get more animated in the evenings. Local brandy (rakija, typically šljivovica/slivovitz) is drunk at any hour without apology.
