The Luka camp was a detention facility operated during the Bosnian War in 1992, located at the port area on the Sava River. It was one of the first wartime detention camps in Bosnia to be reported internationally, and documented crimes committed there were among the earliest to be prosecuted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. The site is now marked with a modest memorial.
Visiting the site is a sobering reminder of what Brcko went through in the early 1990s — the town was heavily contested and suffered significant destruction and loss of life before the ceasefire. The memorial is maintained and accessible.
