Zvornik Lake

Zvornik Lake is an artificial reservoir formed by the Zvornik hydroelectric dam on the Drina river, stretching south along the Bosnia-Serbia border. The lake's green water and wooded banks provide a pleasant contrast to the industrial parts of the city, and the area is popular with local fishermen — pike, perch, and carp are the main catches.

The lakeshore road south from Zvornik offers good views of the water backed by the hills of both countries. It's a calm, uncrowded spot for a walk or a picnic. The dam itself, a short distance from the city center, is the most dramatic structure on the lake and worth a look from the roadside.
