Baška is built around its beaches. Vela Plaža is the long main pebble beach in the centre of town, holder of the Blue Flag and the busiest in the area. To the east, beyond the harbour, a chain of more than thirty smaller coves and pebble beaches runs along the coast toward the cape — most are reachable on foot along the coastal path, others only by boat or kayak.
The water in Baška Bay is unusually clear thanks to the pebble (rather than sand) sea bed, and the bay's shelter behind Prvić islet keeps the waves down. Bunculuka, a fifteen-minute walk east, is the official nudist beach and one of the more peaceful coves. For real solitude, walk or paddle further along to Vela Luka or Mala Luka beneath the Prvić ridge.
