Obzova

Obzova is the highest point on the island of Krk at 568 metres, a bald limestone summit rising above the Bašćanska Draga valley northwest of Baška. The view from the top takes in the whole southern half of the island, the Velebit range on the mainland, and on clear days the long line of the Adriatic coast.

The standard route is a marked path from Batomalj that climbs steadily through holm oak and scrub for about two and a half hours one way. Take plenty of water — there is no shade for the last hour, and the bora wind can be brutal in spring and autumn. Spring (April–May) is the best time, when the karst is briefly green and the wildflowers are out.
