The Riva is the broad palm-lined waterfront promenade that runs from Sveti Petar in the west to the eastern beach, a slow curve around the bay with cafés, bars, restaurants, and shops behind it. In the evening the passeggiata fills the path, a fixture of Croatian coastal towns where the whole population walks slowly between the bars and the sea wall.
The far western end has the cluster of cocktail bars that anchor Makarska's summer nightlife. The eastern end runs into the main beach.
