Ičići is a small settlement about 3 km south of Opatija along the Lungomare, with the best family beach on this stretch of coast. The pebble beach is sheltered, the water entry gradual and safe for children, and there are adequate facilities including a beach bar and rental loungers. It lacks the glamour of Opatija itself but the beach is considerably better for families with young children than Opatija's rocky swimming spots.
The walk from Opatija along the Lungomare takes about 40 minutes. By bus, the same journey takes 15 minutes. The village has a handful of small restaurants and a campsite. In August the beach gets busy, but it never reaches the intensity of the major Dalmatian beaches.
