The Forum square is the main gathering place for evening drinks — the outdoor tables of the cafes that line the square fill up from late afternoon and stay busy till midnight in summer. The area around Sergi Street (Ulica Sergijevaca) has a concentration of bars. Croatian beer (Karlovačko, Ožujsko) is perfectly good and cheap; local Istrian wines — particularly Malvazija (white) and Teran (red) — are worth trying.
