The old town is compact and walkable — you can cover the main Roman sites in a morning on foot. The amphitheatre, Forum, and cathedral are within about 500 metres of each other. City buses connect the centre with the Verudela peninsula (for the aquarium and beach resorts) and other parts of town; timetables are on the local bus company website. Taxis are available and not expensive. Cycling is viable for the flat harbour area and coast south of town but difficult in the old town itself due to narrow streets and cobbles.
