Otto & Frank opened a decade ago and has settled into the kind of comfortable, reliable rhythm every city centre needs: open from breakfast through to late dinner, a menu that runs from eggs benedict through gnocchi with gorgonzola to steak frites, and a long covered terrace on Tkalčićeva that works in most weathers. It is not the city's most ambitious kitchen but it is among the most dependable.
Particularly good for brunch — the eggs and the pancakes are both excellent — and for an early dinner when the more booked-out places have no tables. The cocktail bar at the front does respectable martinis. Open every day.
