Plac sits one floor up from Dolac Market and the conceit is exactly what it sounds like — much of what reaches the kitchen has come from the stallholders downstairs that morning. The menu is short and grill-led: pork neck, lamb chops, the catch of the day, plus a daily soup and a handful of vegetable plates. The chips are cooked in beef fat.
The view from the terrace looks out across the red parasols of the market and the cathedral spires beyond — one of the city's classic city-centre tableaux. Reservations are not strictly necessary for lunch but recommended for evening.
