Saint Wenceslas Cathedral

Gothic cathedral and seat of the Archbishop of Olomouc

The dominant Gothic cathedral in the upper part of the old town, with a spire that rises above the whole city. The building dates from the 12th century, though it was heavily rebuilt in the 19th. Inside there's a crypt with Romanesque remnants and the tombs of several Moravian bishops. The cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Olomouc, making it the most important Catholic church in Moravia.
