In the paving stones of the square in front of Aarhus Cathedral, a set of genuine dinosaur footprints are set into the stonework and easy to walk past without noticing. The tracks are casts of prints made by an Iguanodon-type dinosaur, embedded in the pavement on the square's north side. A small interpretive sign explains them, but most pedestrians simply step over them without realising what they are.
It's a typical piece of Aarhus humour — informal, slightly absurd, placed in an unexpected location. Worth knowing about before you get there, otherwise you'll miss them entirely.
