Ærøskøbing's appeal is the town itself — the preserved streetscape, the timber-framed houses, the cobbled lanes ending at the harbour. The museums (Bottle Peter's Collection, Hammerichs Hus) are small and absorbing; the beach huts at Eriksholm are a short walk from the centre.
