Overgaden is a contemporary art institution in a converted 18th-century warehouse on the canal in Christianshavn. The organisation focuses on emerging Danish and international artists, showing experimental work that larger institutions often avoid. The building — a former goods warehouse for the naval base — has been minimally converted, keeping the industrial scale while making it suitable for exhibitions.
Admission is free or donation-based. The programme typically runs 4–6 shows per year. One of the better small art spaces in Copenhagen and a reason to spend time in Christianshavn beyond the canal walk and Vor Frelsers Kirke.
