Palm Beach, north of the town centre, is the main beach — planted with over 70 palms by the local government in 2004 and popular for beach volleyball and swimming in summer. The Hirsholmene Islands, 7 km northeast by boat, are a nature reserve and important bird sanctuary with a lighthouse; good for a summer afternoon. The indoor Eventyrbadet aqua centre is an option in colder months.
