The single most rewarding day trip from Frederikshavn is north to Skagen, the tip of Jutland where the North Sea and Kattegat meet. The town has a famous 19th-century artists' colony, gabled yellow houses, the migrating dune of RÃ¥bjerg Mile, and the famous Grenen sandspit where you can stand with one foot in each sea. Trains run hourly from Frederikshavn and take about 35 minutes. South of town, the Bangsbo estate is a half-day in itself.
