Garderhoj Fort is one of the late 19th-century forts built as part of Copenhagen's landward defences. The interior has limited opening hours, but the earthworks and exterior can be seen on a walk through the area.
It is worth a look if you are exploring Gentofte's northern sights, especially with Bernstorff Palace, Ordrupgaard, or Dyrehaven on the same day.
