A working homestead on the northern side of the island that takes day visitors and overnight guests. The owners demonstrate traditional spinning, weaving, and bread baking, and serve simple Kihnu meals — black bread, smoked fish, sour cream, potatoes — at a long shared table in the farmhouse kitchen. The smoke sauna in the yard is fired up most evenings in summer and is available to guests.
This is the most reliable way to see the older crafts in actual use rather than in a museum case. Booking ahead is essential, especially in July and August.
