Pimeaed, the "Dark Garden," is a small park laid out on Narva's old fortifications above the river. It is not dark in any sinister sense; the name comes from the shaded, tree-covered character of the place. After the hard stone of the castle and the exposed riverfront, the park is a welcome softer patch of the city.
Use it as part of a loop from the town hall to Victoria Bastion and the river promenade. The paths are especially pleasant in summer, when central Narva can feel broad, hot, and a little empty.
