Pine Forest Walks

The pine forests that separate Narva-Jõesuu from the surrounding countryside are as much a part of the resort's appeal as the beach itself. Tall Scots pines grow close together, muffling road noise and casting long afternoon shadows across sandy paths. The air carries the resinous scent that makes Baltic beach forests distinctive.

Walking or cycling into the forest from the beach takes only a few minutes, and tracks run south toward the outskirts of town and north along the river. In late summer you will find blueberries and mushrooms along the paths — Estonians take both seriously and will be out in the forest with baskets. Cyclists can follow the forest tracks for several kilometres without returning to the road.
