Gloria Restaurant and Wine Cellar

Old Town restaurant in 1930s Estonian Art Deco style with a serious wine cellar

Gloria is the grande dame of Tallinn restaurants — an Old Town establishment opened in 1937 and restored to its original Art Deco interiors, with the most serious wine cellar in the city (some 40,000 bottles at last count). The cooking is European classical: duck confit, beef tenderloin, lobster bisque — not adventurous, but executed with real skill.

The wine cellar can be visited independently for wine tasting. Gloria is expensive by Tallinn standards but not by Western European ones. It remains the restaurant of choice for formal occasions and visiting dignitaries.
