Raadi Park spreads around the former Raadi Manor area on the edge of Tartu, beside the striking modern Estonian National Museum. The manor itself was badly damaged in the twentieth century, but the parkland, ponds, and traces of old estate planning still give the area a layered feel.
It is a good place to decompress after the museum, especially because the open ground also carries memories of the Soviet military airfield that once cut this side of Tartu off from ordinary city life. That mix of manor, occupation, and national museum makes Raadi more than just a green space.
