Karelia Aviation Museum

The Karelia Aviation Museum is located at Lappeenranta Airport and focuses on the history of Finnish military and civilian aviation, with particular emphasis on the Karelian Air Command. The collection includes historic aircraft, engines, uniforms, and equipment, with a strong focus on the role of aviation in Finland's wars with the Soviet Union in the 1940s.

Finland's small air force punched above its weight during the Winter War and Continuation War, and the museum makes the case well for why. The exhibits are supplemented by Finnish-language films and documentation; English summaries are available. It is a specialist attraction that rewards visitors with an interest in aviation or Finnish military history.
