St. Mary's Church of Lappee

The Church of Lappee is one of Lappeenranta's oldest surviving buildings, a Lutheran church that has served the local congregation since the 18th century. The current structure dates largely from 1794 and occupies an elevated position in the city centre. Its interior is characteristic of Finnish Lutheran church design of the period — austere and light-filled, with white walls and minimal decoration focused on the pulpit.

The church is open to visitors outside service times in summer. The surrounding churchyard contains grave monuments from the 18th and 19th centuries and offers a quiet space away from the busier harbour and fortress areas.
