The town's Lutheran church, a striking modern building from 1982 designed by architect Raili Pietilä. A long single-storey block of white walls and stone topped by a sweeping arched roof, with a wide window facade on the front; one of the more distinctive examples of late-20th-century Finnish church architecture.
The interior is austere and luminous. There has been a church on this site since the founding of Brahea in 1653; this is the fifth iteration. Free to visit during the summer; check the parish website for opening hours in winter.
