A small wooded island just north of the town centre, reached by a foot bridge across a narrow channel. Walking paths, a beach, picnic benches, the open-air museum next door, and a sauna by the water that the town keeps open in summer.
Timitra is where the locals come on a summer Sunday — swim, barbecue, swim again. In winter the channel freezes and the path becomes a ski trail. The whole circuit is about three kilometres and flat.
