Auttikongas Waterfall is a worthwhile nature excursion from Rovaniemi, set in forest where a marked trail follows rapids, old structures, and viewpoints around the falls. It gives visitors a more grounded Lapland landscape than a quick Arctic Circle photo stop.
The distance means it should be planned as a proper outing, especially outside summer. Wear suitable footwear, check road and trail conditions, and allow time for the loop rather than driving out only for a single snapshot of the water.
