Häkinvaara Hut is a stone-built kota above Saarenkylä, with a wide view over the Ounasjoki and Kemijoki rivers. It is a simple stop, but the setting gives you a good sense of how Rovaniemi sits between water, forest, and low hills.
It works best as part of a walk or drive around Ounasvaara, rather than as a destination on its own.
