Kaltio, inside the Holiday Club Saariselkä hotel, is one of the better fine-dining options in the village. The menu is built around Lappish ingredients — sautéed reindeer with mashed potatoes and lingonberry, Arctic char from nearby lakes, cloudberry parfait for dessert — with set tasting menus alongside à la carte.
The room is warm and modern, with big windows looking onto the snowy hills. Service is unhurried in the Finnish way, so do not arrive in a rush.
