Alpe d'Huez has the usual ski-resort mix of fondue and raclette places, slope-side mountain restaurants, and a couple of more ambitious options that try harder. Prices are high — this is a resort and they know it. The signature mountain dish in the Oisans is the gratin dauphinois (thinly sliced potatoes baked with cream and nutmeg) and any traditional Savoyard menu will include it.
