La Flegere cable car is one of Chamonix's key lifts for reaching the sunny side of the valley, with wide views toward Mont Blanc and access to high balcony trails. It is especially useful for hikers heading toward Lac Blanc or for visitors who want alpine scenery without committing to a full climb.
Weather decides the quality of the visit. On clear days the views are superb; in cloud, the lift loses much of its purpose. Check operating dates as well, since Chamonix's lift network changes by season and maintenance period.
