Le Cap Horn

Le Cap Horn sits right next to the altiport at the bottom of one of the access pistes — an on-mountain restaurant with a vast sun terrace that, in clear weather, doubles as the best place in Courchevel to drink champagne and watch private jets land twenty metres away. It is a lunch institution that turns into a (very expensive) party in the afternoon.

Food is good if not transcendent: shellfish platters, grilled meats, salads. The point is the scene more than the kitchen. Closed in summer; in winter, book lunch well ahead and dress for outdoor dining if the sun is out.
