Most visitors arrive via Chambéry, Geneva, or Lyon airports, all between two and three hours by road. Chambéry is the closest in winter and runs charter flights from across Europe on weekends. Geneva has the broadest international connections.
By train, the TGV runs to Moûtiers, 25 kilometres down the valley, with frequent direct services from Paris (about 4.5 hours) and weekend services from London via Lille. From Moûtiers, regular shuttle buses climb to all the resort villages. In peak ski season the road from Moûtiers becomes a slow queue on Saturday changeover days — leave plenty of time.
For the truly committed (and budgeted), the Courchevel Altiport accepts small private jets and helicopters direct into the resort.
