Free shuttle buses link all the resort villages — 1300 (Le Praz), 1550, 1650 (Moriond), and 1850 — running until late evening in ski season. In summer the timetable is reduced but still useful. The bus is much easier than driving; parking in 1850 in particular is a nightmare during the season.
A gondola also connects Le Praz with 1850, opening up the lower village as a base. Within 1850, the village is compact and walkable, though steep — pack proper boots if you are wandering between hotels and restaurants.
