Le Chabichou

Le Chabichou is one of the longest-standing serious restaurants in Courchevel — two Michelin stars, run by the Rochedy family for more than four decades. It sits inside a hotel of the same name at the top of 1850, on the piste, so you can clip in and ski home after dinner. Or after lunch: the lunchtime tasting menu is the more approachable option.

The cooking is rooted in the Savoie and the broader French Alps but executed with the lightness that distinguishes a serious modern kitchen from the older cheese-and-cream tradition. Expect freshwater fish from the local lakes, game from the surrounding forests, and a serious wine list that leans naturally on Savoie and the Rhône. Book well ahead in season.
