Les Trois Vallées — the Three Valleys — is the headline reason most people come to Courchevel. The system links Courchevel, Méribel, and Val Thorens, plus a clutch of smaller resorts, into a single ticketed area covering some 600 kilometres of marked piste. It is the largest linked ski domain in the world.
The terrain is enormous and varied: gentle wooded runs above Courchevel 1550, long blue cruisers above Méribel, and the high glacier skiing of Val Thorens at 3,200 metres. The lift system is engineered for capacity — modern fast chairs and gondolas almost everywhere — and a six-day pass for the whole area is the standard ticket if you have time to range. Buy lessons or join a guide for the first day if you have not skied here before; the area is too big to figure out from a map.
