Bordeaux has an excellent modern tram system with three lines covering most of the city centre and inner suburbs. Buy tickets from the multilingual machines at tram stops — single trip, multi-trip, daily, or weekly passes are available.
Much of the centre is pedestrianised, making it pleasant to walk. Most sights are within comfortable walking distance of each other if you are reasonably fit. Bicycles are available through the VCub bike-share scheme, with stations across the city.
