Jardin de l'Archevêché

The Archbishop's garden lies on the south side of the cathedral and was laid out in formal French style in the 18th century, attributed to a follower of Le Nôtre. Lozenge-shaped beds of clipped box, gravel paths, a central fountain and, towering above it all, the apse of Saint-Étienne.

It is the best place in Bourges for a picnic or a few quiet minutes between sightseeing. The garden is open all day, free of charge.
