The Villa Rothschild is a 19th-century mansion in the Croix-des-Gardes district west of the Croisette, surrounded by a park of rare trees and Mediterranean gardens. The villa was built for the Rothschild banking family and has served various purposes over the years, including as a military hospital in both World Wars. Today it functions as a media library and cultural centre managed by the city.
The park that surrounds it — the Parc de la Villa Rothschild — is publicly accessible and makes for a pleasant, quiet walk away from the seafront crowds. The combination of belle-époque architecture, mature trees, and views over the bay makes it one of the lesser-known but genuinely enjoyable corners of Cannes.
