Getting There

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the busiest French airport outside Paris, with direct flights from most European cities, North America, and the Middle East. It sits on the western edge of the city and is easily reached by tram (Line 2) in 20 minutes or by taxi in 15 minutes. The train station (Nice Ville) sits in the centre of the city and connects to the main coastal rail line with direct TGV services from Paris (5.5 hours) and frequent regional trains along the Riviera to Monaco, Menton, Cannes, and Marseille.

Buses operated by Lignes d'Azur cover the surrounding region cheaply — the route to Menton, Monaco, and into the Alps behind Nice is scenic and inexpensive. If you are driving, parking in Nice is genuinely difficult; the paid parking garages near Place Masséna are the most practical option for short stays.
