Église Saint-Laurent is a quieter Gothic church in Le Puy-en-Velay, away from the dramatic volcanic pinnacles that dominate most visits. Its main historical hook is the tomb of Bertrand du Guesclin, the famous 14th-century Breton commander whose body was divided among several resting places after his death.
The church is worth adding to a walk through town if you are interested in medieval France beyond the cathedral. It will not compete with Notre-Dame du Puy for spectacle, but it gives Le Puy another layer of pilgrimage, war, and old civic memory.
