The Musée d'art Hyacinthe Rigaud is Perpignan's main fine-arts museum, named for the royal portraitist Hyacinthe Rigaud, who was born in the city. The collection covers French and Spanish painting from the 15th to the 20th century, with works that reflect Perpignan's position between Catalonia and France.
The museum is a strong indoor stop in the old center, especially if you want more than the city's fortifications and churches. It pairs well with a walk to Le Castillet and the cathedral.
