The Bois d'Amour is the remnant of the maritime pine plantation that originally fixed the dunes of La Baule. It is now a sprawling municipal park behind La Baule-les-Pins, criss-crossed with sandy paths and cycle trails through the pines.
It is a good escape from the seafront on a hot afternoon, and a useful route for cyclists heading inland towards Saint-Sébastien or the back roads to Guérande. There is a children's play area and a picnic ground near the eastern entrance.
