Port de La Baule

Small fishing and yachting harbour shared with Le Pouliguen.

At the western end of the bay, where the rocky headland breaks the sweep of sand, La Baule and Le Pouliguen share a tidal harbour. It is a working port for a small fleet of fishing boats and a marina for yachts and sailing dinghies, with a few good seafood restaurants on the quayside.

Walk from the casino along the promenade and you will reach it in about 40 minutes. The fish stalls on the quay open early — locals buy their dinner directly from the boats. The headland beyond the port is good for an hour's coastal walk towards La Pointe de Penchâteau.
