Inside the Centre Pompidou-Metz, chef Romain Faure runs two restaurants that take their cues from the museum's international outlook. Umé is the casual option — a bistro-style space open during museum hours where you can get a proper lunch without ceremony: seasonal dishes, good wines, and a terrace view of the distinctive white roof structure above you. It is a solid choice even if you are only passing through for coffee and a break.
Yozora is the fine dining room, operating in the evenings and aimed at a more leisurely meal. The cooking draws on French technique with Japanese influences — Umé means "plum" in Japanese, Yozora means "night sky" — and the menu changes with the seasons. Reservations are recommended for Yozora, particularly on weekends. Both restaurants are accessible without a museum ticket.
