Run by Frédéric Couderc from the Centre Nautique Bertrand Lambert at the southern end of Le Touquet's seafront. Group lessons last an hour and a half and take children from about seven upwards; there are surf camps through the school holidays and group sessions for anyone organising something larger.
Le Touquet is not a serious wave — the beach is wide and shallow and the swell arrives small and disorganised more often than not — but that is precisely why it works as a teaching beach, and why the school also hires out paddleboards, bodyboards and skimboards for the days when there is nothing to surf. Boards and wetsuits are available separately from the lessons.
A single lesson runs about €40, with packages of three at €115 and five at €175.
