Pérard is the most famous restaurant in Le Touquet and has been for decades. It occupies a prominent position on the Rue Saint-Jean and is instantly recognisable by the shellfish and crustaceans displayed in the window and on ice outside. The menu is entirely seafood: whole sole meunière, skate with capers, moules marinières, and platters of oysters and langoustines from the local boats.
The room is brasserie-style — white tablecloths, efficient service, a good deal of noise at weekends. Prices are fair given the quality. Book ahead if you are coming on a Friday or Saturday evening, when the place fills with visitors from Paris and across the Channel.
